This is a good opportunity for anyone interested in what is going on in PANO or the NOPD in general, to read about it in a question & answer and comment-style format. You can respond to other people's questions or comments, initiate your own, ask questions, or simply monitor the conversations of others and learn firsthand about the NOPD and PANO.
There are certainly other forums that have similar goals and opportunities. While we at PANO do not wish to discourage anyone from particpating in those other forums, sometimes the more general forums, such as NOLA.com have a great deal of traffic about issues not germane to the NOPD and the posters tend to be combative over personalties and other irrelevant issues . Signal26 is a great forum site, and much better as it is quite specific to the NOPD. But we wanted to provide a threaded style board dedicated to the members of PANO and the exchange of information relative to PANO and NOPD. People often ask what PANO is doing about certain things, and while we are making a great deal of progress in keeping everyone posted about what is going on with the website and emails, we thought this would be another great opportunity to get your ideas and questions and give you ours. Hope you like it.

I have heard, seen, and read more about the actions, intentions and positions of PANO in the last few weeks than I have in the last few years. That is so very important. I think this new addition to the PANO website is great. I should give us a great forum to discuss and keep up to date on current issues and concerns. Spread the word about this site. One of the most frequent comments I've always heard is that members do not know what is going on in the department (rumor vs. truth) and what, if anything, PANO is doing about any of it. Well, between the WEBSITE, the emails, and this forum, there shouldn't be any doubts or questions. Here is where you ask, here is where you find out.
