Sergeant Test ?

Lt Glasser, can you shed some light on the Sergeants list (the life of it) and the rumors that Car 3 wants a test as soon as possible.

I know the city was ready to have a test before Katrina so is the money still around ?

I saw that EdmondExley asked about the PO 2 / 3 and 4 promotions which I think is really important but what about the people who want to be rank ?

The Civil Service Commission voted today to extend the current Sergeants' Eligibility Register until January 2007. The list will remain in effect until then. Civil Service does not feel that they can establish a new register (Test and then Evaluate the results) until at least then.

I have informed Civil Service that PANO will assist in any way possible with the Administration and Evaluation of a new Sergeants' Examination, if cost and resources are impeding the process. I know F.O.P. has made a similar commitment.

In addition:

The current Lieutenant's Register will be in effect until 01-31-2007

The current Captain's Register will be in effect until 08-31-2007
