Meeting with Riley?

Mike,

I understand a few weeks ago, Chief Riley advised you that he would like to met with you and discuss some of the issues you have raised in the media and the concerns of the men and women of the department. Has that meeting occurred yet? If so, are you able to advise us of the outcome. If it hasn't, can you tell us, why? Also, what can you suggest we do to encourage Riley to met with you?

Logistical concerns prevented a meeting to date. I have a scheduled meeting with the Superintendent on Friday , July 28, 2006. I will report back what issues are covered in that meeting by Friday afternoon.

Are you going to ask about radios ?

In response to my comments on recently televised news shows relative to the radios, Major Sauter informed me that the department had ordered over 400 new hand-held radios (same type or newer model of the same system) and that the sytem was being modified to allow for inter-departmental communication. When, exactly, that will happen was not said. I was told that the system should be vastly improved in the near future.
