I have been looking at other sites / NOLA.COM and SIGNAL26.COM and both seem to have a LOT of police posting. Why is the activity so slow over here ?

Just wondering.

Perhaps it's because posters must register first, before posting or responding. Some people may be under the impression that they must register with their name. But you can register with whatever name you wish, so anonymity is still there. No one is intetested in who you are. All we ask is that you keep your questions and postings civil and professional.
Frankly, while I think NOLA.com is a great forum, I am disappointed at some of the racial baiting and insulting remarks. Signal26.com is a better police venue, but every so often also gets a bit out of control and juvenile. While I would like to see more activity on this forum, I don't miss those kinds of postings. This forum is for the benefit of anyone wanting to request or post relevant information relating to the NOPD. I monitor the forum regularly & try to address the issues raised as quickly as possible. It will be only as good as the subscribers make it.

Good answer Mike.

"But you can register with whatever name you wish, so anonymity is still there."

You can also use a yahoo, gmail, hotmail email account, you dont have to use your normal one if you wish, you just need an email account that you can conifrm that you wished to join.

Just to let people know when you register you must first be approved before being allowed to post, this is one of the checks and balances in place to help avoide SPAM... if you have any problems please call the PANO office and let Rhonda know and we will see about getting you approved.
