NOPD Shift Times

I am conducting research for a book including the NOPD Third District. My question is, "How many shifts per day, and what are their beginning and ending times, post-Katrina?" Are these times consistant across the board, or do the times vary according to districts?

With regard to the uniformed patrolmen there are three thifts, which are the same in every district. The first shift (daywatch) works from 6:25am - 3:00pm, the second shift (evening watch) works from 2:25pm-11:00pm, and the third shift (nightwatch) from 10:25pm - 7:00am. Other units within the districts such as the task force and DIU(Detectives) work various hours, according to the needs of the specific district.
