General Membership Meeting

Meeting Called to Order at 7:11pm by Sergeant of Arms Paul Noel
Board Members Present: Beckemeyer, Caprera, Glasser, Noel, Mornay, Scheuermann,
Board Members Absent: Wininger
Opening remarks by Glasser:
Temporary stations for the 5th District & 3rd District:
5th District Station to move to temporary site at 2372 St.Claude
(Formerly Universal Furniture)
3rd District Site still to be determined
12 Hours shift – Pano has opposed the mandatory overtime
Glasser was interviewed by news show “48 Hours” to air Saturday, October 13,2007
Police Officer Robert Williams is very close to reaching the maximum limits of his health insurance. Officer Williams is ill with cancer; Tulane Medical has agreed to continue treatment after insurance limit has been reached.
State wide elections set for Saturday, October 20, 2007
Pano fully supports Amendment 1 which makes the recent addition to state pay ($125.00) protected by the state constitution.
LEGAL UP DATE
Attorney Frank DeSalvo provided information on the status of the Danziger Case.
D.A’s Office had filed an appeal to 4th Circuit Court on Judge Parker’s recusal ruling.
City asked that Harry Tervalon recuse himself from future civil service hearings.
Dwayne Scheuermann responded to recent criticism of New Orleans Police department by Metropolitan Crime Commission. Letter is available on Pano Web site and sent to the Times Picayune to be published in the Letter to the Editors Section.

New Business:
Political Candidate Laurie White running for Criminal District Court Section “A”
Addressed the membership asking for their support. No endorsement by Pano.
