THIS is a Police Chief!

Background: San Francisco Police Officer Nick Birco was killed July 26, 2006 when his police car was struck by a stolen van occupied by suspects who had just comitted an armed robbery and were being pursued by SFPD units. This video was of a press conference given by a member of the SFPD brass. This demonstrates how administrators should act.

I had no idea that a rank could speak the truth and say it like it is.

Mike:

I want to commend you and PANO for putting on the training seminars you have already done and are planning on doing.

I would recommend that you view this clip of the SFPD Chief, then develop a seminar for the NOPD Command Staff with the stars on their shoulders. You can title it, "Police Chief 101...How to be a chief and get the respect of your people and the citizens".

Can you imagine Riley saying something like that? NO!!!!!

The closest thing to this guy probably WAS Tony C, but once he put those stars on, he is now politically correct and falls in line and does as he is told by the Big Chief.

I've got an idea.....let's see about getting the SFPD chief down here. Give him the $150K Riley is making, and if all 1000 officers put up $100 each, we can increase the salary by $100K. That would be $250K for a police chief with BALLS! Well worth every penny!!!

Oh yeah...I almost forgot....this will NEVER happen as long as Mayor Wonka is in charge.

But it was nice to dream for a few minutes!

This moving and candid press conference was by the head of the SFPD Police Union, NOT SFPD brass or Chief. He is standing up for San Francisco's Finest as their elected representative. A shining example for sure.
