General Membership Meeting Tuesday, September 12, 2006 Executive Board Members Present: Michael Glasser Executive Board Members Absent: Dwayne Scheuermann Meeting Called to order at approximately 7:12PM, on Tuesday, September 12, 2006 by Michael Glasser. Opening Remarks by Michael Glasser: · Positive response from PANO Website & E-Mail-Thread Forum · Open Letter sent from PANO to New York Police Police Associations and Newspapers in regards to remarks from Mayor Nagin concerning “Ground Zero” in New York. · PANO sponsored “Court Training” for Officers was very successful and next session to begin shortly. Heated discussion by Doug Butler who opposes PANO sponsored training. · Officer Andre Gonzales to be released from hospital in near future. PANO working with City Attorney’s Office to furnish Officer Gonzales residence with necessary equipment to aid his recovery. · Fund Raiser for Officer Kevin Thomas held at “House of Blues on Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at 7:00pm Support and Financial Assistance to that effort. · Officer Chris Laine critically injured in motorcycle accident while on duty. Officer Laine remains in ICU but has shown signs of improvement. Financial Assistance given to Laine family. · PANO in contact city concerning P/O II, III and IV promotions and PANO-sponsored Training. · Contrary to information provided by FOP, 10% pay raise for Police Officers went into effect on September 1, 2006 According to NOPD Payroll Commander, Stephanie Landry. · PANO was successful in meeting with the city in regards to overtime pay. Details of TRIP entries and Form 93 (Payroll Adjustment) to be discussed this week and reported to membership.
